Hello, fellas.
After looking at a few samples I decided to order the black boar grain vinyl top from Legendary for my 73 Challenger. Any members that can offer advice about installation (I may try myself)? Anyone have experience installing vinyl tops? Maybe somebody knows a guy or gal in the area that does good work for a fair price... I live in Chicago's NW burbs. Elgin / Dundee area. Thanks.

Not for the faint of heart, but worth a shot doing it yourself. I usually usually lay the top out on the car with careful measurements of center of the car (marked on the windshield and back light) and make a mark for the center of the top. It's all easy enough to do.

I lay the top on the car with the centers then fold the top in half and work one half at a time. Spray tack for the bulk of it and convertible top glue for the seams. Press down and scrape over gently with a bondo paddle as you lay it out.

Thanks for the advice. I have a few guys finishing up on my challenger and we've talked about doing it ourselves. None of us have any experience doing it tho. From what I understand the glue is applied to the roof and then to the vinyl and allowed to set. From there work is done from the centerline outward. How much glue do you use? Can the glue be done with an inexpensive gun? Thanks.
