when i took the windshield trim off the shelf to polish, there were wads of --windshield--- "glue"--- on the underside and packed into the channels.. my question---with the lack of studs/clips, near the curve, did the factory "glue" the trim in the corners with windshield sealant?? other option---using dermal tool with diamond bits, grind indentions in the glass to facilitate installing trim clips??

I wouldn't mess with the glass, just clean off the "glue" and reinstall. Not sure why you would need anything in the corners. That's where it is least likely to flex or move From what I've experienced.
