    Not that this is your problem. Some LED's are polarity sensitive.

    But I think if I go with a 1" taller tire, my axle (rear of car) will be 1/2" higher and I'm trying to bring down the car height.

    That connector to body ground is marginal. I installed an LED Bulb and it wouldn't work. I ended up soldering a wire to the socket...

    Same here, maybe from prior owner trying to access the bulb by bowing it in lieu of taking off top plates. I’m having the same issue...

    You could epoxy a small diameter steel rod under it to support it & epoxy it from below

    Thanks what I did do is temporary plug the lamp wire unattached to the acc fuse tab and no light. Tried 2 bulbs. Stumped…

    Shifter lamp, dash light, brake and tail ight, headlight and others are grounded through the chassis ground. Chassis just one big wire!
