Welcome to the site....used to have a flock of E bodies starting with a 72 340 car in 74. Long story short, lost count lol. Still have the Belvedere in my avatar though. Bought it in 88.
In the 70's a buddy with a 67 Fairlane with a 289 and 3 speed stick with the 8" spit out the driveshaft. When he pulled over and went back for the shaft, the pinion was still attached to the shaft. I couldn't believe a 289 did that and think there was already a bad spot in the case. After a...

A couple of notes please:
* If you are bringing any type of drink, please, NO GLASS BOTTLES! Carlisle fairgrounds wants cans and plastic only.

Do you have a FSM?? If not, why not? It doesn't cover modified stuff but it should get you to where you need to be. You mentioned it was a drag car earlier....any mods done to the trans? If you mentioned that I missed it.....
Been 35+ years since I've done one and can't remember where all the fasteners are. IIRC, removing the cluster and glove box made things easier to get to.....help lol Car in question is a 70 Grand Coupe Cuda.
Latch only. Not sure if it'll fit later models. Good condition and works freely. Has some dirt buildup in the hard to reach places but an ultrasonic cleaner should take care of that. Was removed from a 71 Challenger in the mid to late 80's. 85 bucks shipped to all 50 states. Thanks
15.4 for a 68 Pro Street Belvedere......didn't see the auction but if the car was even half way nice, that was cheap. Makes me wonder what the hit was. I mean it's kinda hard to just build a clean driver for less.
Another trick to getting those off is using a gas axe to heat it up. They heat up real quick and usually slip right off if the shaft is suspended where the sleeve can fall off.
Ran into a guy with a T/A and he says it has 11" rear drums on it. Could you get a T/A with 11" fronts too? I thought they all had disc brakes on the front as standard equipment. He says his has stock front discs....and every E body I've ever had with disc brakes had 10" drums on the rear.
Well, my thought is if you want a site to grow, you build the nicest one you can and when people come, they have a tendency to stick around because of the options it has. Kinda like a fully optioned car. You usually don't want that on a race car but on a daily driver, people have a tendency to...
Wow....so you have to modify an original car that came from the factory like that back then?? I had an issue with a 71 340 Cuda in Texas (yearly safety/emissions inspection) because the original air cleaner didn't have the snorkels with the hot air stove set up. I got out the book (their...
I assume your trim is the door protector type trim with the soft (well, pretty hard actually) rubber/vinyl in the center of the trim? I removed that type of trim on my 70 and don't recall any phillips head screws on any of it....but that was in the mid 70's I did that. Like moparlee said, I...
