I am in the planning stage of putting my 70 SE back together and see that the low profile belt molding has dents at each clip location coming up from below.
My old clips have a sharp edge sticking up and is not far from contacting the trim. I assume a little pressure down on the trim after install would cause the dents.
I am looking at using generic bolt type trim clips and they have less height from plate bottom to highest point and the generic has a larger contact area with it's bolt head. Has anyone tried this or is there a third, better option? Maybe my old clips are not original? They are about .15 in from plate bottom to top of spring arm.
