The grill filler I am looking for is just like the one pictured (gray). It has a crack, and the 2 ends are missing. If anyone is a master at restoring these? Let me know, or I could purchase one that is not a house payment.

Thanks

I have fixed several 71 grilles and it is not a difficult process. ABS plastic is very easy to work with as you can heat it and form it. You can weld it with heat (soldering gun works) or you can chemically weld it with acetone. What I did was mix up cut up pieces into acetone until it is the consistency of wet peanut butter. You can use the mixture as a form of glue, although the acetone actually melts the sides of the crack, and let it set up. You can even form tabs and small pieces with the goo. When it dries, it can be sanded and primed to make the piece look brand new. You can buy a small sheet of grey ABS plastic off of EBay and form new pieces for the ends.

Never worked with anything like that, but thanks for the information! Might try the process on something else to practice. Not very patient with anything to do with body work. If you know anyone that is willing and able to tackle this have them contact me.

Thanks a bunch

Just an FYI, it is called a front valence insert. I also have a slightly damaged one.

Thanks, its getting there :) Also I just learned they have 3 plugs that go into the 3 holes behind the insert. I've had my car for 40 years, but had grill problems/missing pieces I didn't know about till now.
R/T specialties' sells the kit for $6.00 1000344 CLIP SET CUDA VALENCE INSERT, BODY, 1000344 :Mopar Fasteners, Clips & Hardware

They do have other inserts already painted light argent, but they were over 400.00, I used less paint than that lol
