Just picked up a 71 challenger rt 340 4 speed # matching car with no rust. Been garaged since new. Original tx9 black with chartreuse stripe kit so I decided to sign up. What an awesome find.

Nice find, they did not make very many of these (313, I think). Post some pics. I also have a 71 RT, 340/4spd car, Plum Crazy, but my original drive train was long gone. Now it’s a 440 with Tremec 5sp od.

Whoa. Thats a low #. Yea I knew they only made like 1078 total 340 cars. I cracked my head off the k member when i seen #s matched. Was originally black so im gonna get it repainted that way. Thx for the comment.

Very nice! How about some engine compartment, fender tag, & trunk pics, for reference.

Edit: wow, space saver spare!

Are you sure it was black? It would take a lot of dedication to paint the supports in the trunk on such a clean/original car.

my TX9 non-R/T 340 car. Disregard the 1/4 scoops. I added them back in 1985 or so, before I knew better.

Nice car. I like the black. Im going back to the original color and stripe kit after i finish my 68 barracuda. Almost done then on to the challenger. Wanna stay original with that 1.

Welcome to the site from Michigan. Man, no kidding on an awesome find:thumbsup:. Keep us posted on your progress. Do you know the history of the car, must have been from the SW?

71’s are my favorite. Great car that is in nice shape!
Disc brakes, buckets, console 4 speed, locking gas cap and No radio.

If the space saver spare is original it means it came with 15” wheels.

Did you get or look for broadcast sheet?

Awesome and super rare because of that stripe. There is a very similar car to yours that shows up at Carlisle every year. It is a survivor car and ends up in the survivor tent. Black with the stripe in orange.
