71 Challenger tail panel

Can anyone tell me if the 70 and 71 Challenger sheet metal tail panels are physically the same apart from the openings for the lights? And the modification necessary to convert a 70 AMD panel to a 71? Many thanks

You will have to basically change the whole panel to make it a 71. I would just get a 71 tail light panel. They are out there. It will just take a little hunting.
