The door skin is good the door handle mount bracket is welded up side down, Check out the pictures, I Checked the door handle fit and did not go into place when I checked with the handle it didn’t work, So I looked a bit closer and found the mistake, Just putting out the word!

I just found it out today, I just removed it and put it in the Wright way. No big issues ,but if I had not thought to check it before ,I put the skin on .Then there’s a problem! I will let them know that they have a problem,That will be on them . So my thing is all this stuff is manufactured by outside sources and some parts must be checked before you install them! I checked everything l can to OEM parts if possible! That’s just me I am a retired body man , And got into checking all parts.

Hey it’s no big deal just remove the spot welds it’s up side down then reweld it.
Just to let you know I called AMD told them the problem, They said thanks, got some more pictures of the door handle repair and door skin attachment bracket for the window regulator assembly, l will also post pictures of door skin panel installation w/ panel bond adhesive.

Big Guy: You saved me a lot of work. I had 2 AMD door skins for my73 Cuda. After reading your post I checked and one was upside down. Picture.

Thanks and good luck,

Man that sucks. But yeah thats an easy fix even though you shouldnt have to do it. I have noticed lots of issues with AMD parts the past couple years. I wish AMD would just send you the small brackets so they can be attached correctly. My firewall had that round tube that is the inlet to the air duct spot welded and no seam sealer under it. The lip was also not formed all of the way around and it would have literally funneled water in the car. I drilled it out and seam sealed it correctly. The factory one has a lip on the inside that extends up. On the new one the lip was only partial.
Btw, if you spot through seam sealer make sure you do it before it cures.

Got my door skins put on and the AMD bottom for the one that was rusted out for my 73 Cuda. Turned the door handle attachment the right way (as previous post). Overall, pretty pleased with the job.

Looks like loads of fun.....not. Turned out good. Did you use any special tools? I know they make tools to remove and install skins but from what I hear they are not a necessity.

Btw, AMD is not making the inside bottom patch panel if your lower door has rust in it. I got one for my passenger side door and it looks like its going to fit well. Although, I will probably only use the end pieces of it.
