Carburetor Question 1970 Challenger numbers matching 383 R/T manual sublime NOE code

According to a previous thread, this engine probably came with a Holley. It was built I Cali. There is no build sheet! The build date was late September.

It appears it could have come with a Holley 4367 A, Or a 4217a.

What it the most likely carb? Or do I even have the correct information?

Your wisdom and knowledge it greatly appreciated.

Since its a California car, does it have the N95 evap emission control package? I suspect it does, and if so the 4217 seems to be the likely culprit.

FYI, If it is a 4217 your looking for, attached is some reference photos. I just had mine restored for my car. 4217 is for California, 383, 4spd cars.

Yes i have a 383 4 spd cali car with the rare 70 emissions tube off fuel tank.
By the way does that need to be hooked up do you know or can i cap the 5 tubes off?

Do you have a photo of the 5 tubes? Mine does not have that, I don’t think.

Check for an N95 code (Evaporation Control System) 1970 California emissions, like Mopar & Missiles suggested. That will tell you if you have the 5 tube Vapor- Liquid Separator. You will have either what’s in the first picture (with ECS) or the second picture (without ECS). Last picture is from underneath right rear wheel well with shields on covering hoses.

Check for an N95 code (Evaporation Control System) 1970 California emissions, like Mopar & Missiles suggested. That will tell you if you have the 5 tube Vapor- Liquid Separator. You will have either what’s in the first picture (with ECS) or the second picture (without ECS). Last picture is from underneath right rear wheel well with shields on covering hoses.
Mine looks loke picture #2, with an E63 engine code! 4 speed with a factory delete a/c.

Jeez, what a cluster! My combo is a 1970 Challenger 383 E body orange, factory a/c delete! manual 4speed, E63 code.

You would think there would be one option!

Of all the Mopar experts out there someone would know definitively.

Okay, so you don’t have ECS, then you’ll need a Holley #R4367A.

Thats great news! Much easier to find and I think a much better carburetor.
Why don’t you post a picture of your fender tag. That will confirm what the correct carb. is. Also, there is no such thing as A/C delete. You either order the car with it, or you didn’t.
FYI, just because you car was built in the L.A. plant doesn’t mean it comes with N95 emissions. It is the destination of where the car was sent to that determines the N95 code. It would only be on your car IF the cars destination was somewhere in California.

Yes i have the first picture like a second filler tube with the 5 smaller tubes

So my car has ECS and i forgot to add sleeve over hoses Geez.
Also my carb looks like a 4217a but i think is a rebuitt exchange? list# 4366 for an Auto? i have a manual
