The way I got these tracks set up, the yellow wire does not engage the far side. Do I have them correct? This seat is the driver's side.

First of all, wow! your seats look great! It is kind of hard to see in that picture as it is so dark but the wire going across the seat bottom should be tight. Here is a picture of my seat:
Please don't mind how horrible it looks. I plan to take care of that soon. I hope this helps.

Thanks, took the seat tracks all apart and sandblasted them. I believe the cable I have must be too long?

It does appear to be to long. Perhaps it is for a bench seat? Not sure. The wire on mine measures a hair under 11".

I'm getting ready to install my carpet and I just couldn't stand the thought of installing my rusty seat tracks so I am trying to clean them up. In doing this I turned over my passenger seat bottom and I noticed that the wire under my passenger seat is longer than the wire on my drivers side. It is about 13.25" and it has a flat piece of metal that keeps tension on it. JT, i was thinking that maybe you just need the piece that tensions it instead of a new wire?

I don't know why my car has one seat with the tension-er and one seat without it. Does anyone know which is correct for a '70 E body?

Lightened up that first picture and it sure looks like you need the tension strap with bolt adjustment.

That is the driver's side. It might have it on the passenger side? Will check tomorrow. Great info. Thanks a whole bunch
