Thanks for your reply. This thing \has been driving me crazy. I have made all the suggested changes with no luck. I plan to replace my alternator as well. Thanks again, Merry Christmas!

Charles, did you ever figure the problem out? My 71 340 with all new wire harnesses is doing the exact same thing.

OK, I'm not sure what "solid fuel" means but, I did install a new carb kit and reset the floats last Friday and it is running much better. I can now let it idle without any fuel dribbling out of the primaries. It will now stall out when I turn the idle mixture screws in so I think I got it...

Daniel, thank you for the lead. I talked to the person that rebuilt this TQ for me last night. He gave me some advice on what to look for. I'm gonna give it one more shot before I throw in the towel.

Will do. I promised the wife we would drive it this summer and I'm running out of both time and patience! Thank you for your help.

Fasjac, Thank you very much. If I can't get her to go soon, I'm thinking about putting the TQ in a box and trying a Street Demon carb.

Al, thank you. I will see how this works out. I have the carb ready to bolt back on. I will hopefully have it running in the morning. I need to get some work done the rest of today. Have a great weekend everyone.

I just checked out the video again and my bowl is for sure different than that one. I'm guessing no O-rings.

I thought on the videos I've seen there was a round cup on the base of the bowl that the o-ring goes into. I don't see these cups in my bowl. Wondering if '71 was different???
