Ummmm, it is an unabashed fake, bogus, etc. I know why it is, it is up to you to tell us otherwise, which you can not do.

They are aluminum.

The tag is fake, there are many codes that are incorrect, nonexistent to an E Body, ones that MUST be there, but are not, etc.

There is NO VIN stamp. Also, a 1971 production year block would not have a 1970 partial VIN stamp.

Not noted above but factual, the two colour pinstripe, the top is usually red, but on very early cars, which matched a colour, the stripe was blue. The white stripe is always present and is fluorescent. From the 23 section of your parts book, all M46 optioned cars would have the three red bars...

On the BACK of each guard will be a seven digit part number cast into the rubber, if they are original.

You are missing the gold base that attaches to your gold bracket. It mounts under the underside of the front of the console. Find that and you definitely have a "bargaining chip'.

1971 B Rocker Mouldings are about an inch in height. 1970-1971 J rocker mouldings are about three inches in height. The lengths are different as well.

They are not anything alike.
