My engine was from a 2006, so I am planning on using the AC compressor that came with it. I had to saw off one of the casting lugs on the compressor, but figured that was an easy mod. It is ironic. I've been doing research for 2 years while my car was in the shop, and until I started looking...
Thank you for the feedback. I came to the same conclusion on the transmission mount. The last issue I have to resolve before I clean up my engine compartment is what steering to use. the Holley hits their cast exhaust manifold hard. I ordered a Borgeson steering box in hopes that it clears...
Good Morning all. I started a new forum post as I haven't seen some of the issues I'm encountering posted so I figured I'd share my experiences with you so you can hopefully learn without having to do this the hard way.
First off, there are a lot of different combinations out there, so here is...
Update on installation. I'm now on my 3rd engine installation attempt. The Holley Cast iron manifolds do not seem to fit with the factory style Power Steering box using the Holley engine and transmission mounts. Some minor transmission tunnel massaging will be required. Looks like it's very...
I am interested to find out what you end up with. I'm currently putting a 2006 5.7L Hemi in a '73. I have the 8HP70 transmission. I'm using the Holley motor mounts, trans mount and ceramic coated cast manifolds (from Holley) and the Holley aluminum cast pan. I'm also using a Steer & Gear...
Glad to hear you got yours working. Update. Since then, I received the PWM LED driver as well. I am now able to dim the LED on the switch, which is super helpful for night driving.
I'm going through this swap now and have not yet completed it, but have done a lot of work and have the engine and trans hooked together on a run stand (pre-Eagle 5.7 and 8HP70 Trans) to work out all the wiring kinks. What rearend ratio are you running? The 545RE, NAG1, 8HP70 all have...
Visited the shop again on 1-31-2025. The car is now down on it's wheels again, the rear valance has been worked and installed and we are expecting one more coat of primer before final spray. they also re-installed the fuel pressure regulator, so that task is out of the way.
Mounting the radiator in rubber bushings is a way to reduce the loads on the radiator which improves life. Aluminum and soldered brass do not have an endurance limit. What that means is that the material will eventually fail no matter what load is placed on it. It may be years, decades, but...
