Larger jets or larger carb cfm?

17" mercury says you have a mild cam. Hotter cam would never achieve that. After cleaning up everything, The best way to tune and diagnose is with an Air/Fuel Mixture analyzer. Spark plug gap will only impact running if too small. 5 thousands over has no effect so don't under gap. As others...

    Center Console Plastic Type

Thanks so much. Mine is completely flush. Tried a couple of other ones before without success. I'm familiar and have used JBW but was reluctant to use it for this application. I really like yourr suggestion of the Loctite especially because of the activator. I wasn't familiar with this one...

    Center Console Plastic Type

What is the best glue for repairing the classic break in the thin trim on the top of the console where it borders the shifter?

    Organisol Paint

I didn't have to do it because I had organosol, but I contemplated spraying some flat black with very fine sand mixed in it using a bigger nozzle, then shooting another layer of plain flat on top, in order to get the coarseness. Just a thought.

Want to Upgrade Factory AC but Keep Stock Appearance

Here is another option. Convert your original system to be R134 compatible, but do not use inefficient R134. Instead go to R12a. Used all across Canada, but the R134 manufacturers blocked it in US as flammable. But guess what every new car now has? Flammable R1234yf. ( And did you ever hear...

AAR Cuda Fender Tag, Need Decode

    70 AAR

Not sure what you mean by "mandatory"vinyl top so forgive me if I have misintrrpreted.. They are relatively rare, but a number of AARs were built without vinyl top.

    Organisol Paint

To my knowledge, nobody makes it now. Original cans are extremely rare. Wish I had a better answer for you.

    Organisol Paint

There are a lot of "formulas" that are proposed to replicate organasol. They all fail the test badly if you park a real organasol painted car next to them. I spent "too much" money to buy two quarts of original a few years back when I redid my AAR, but it was worth it in retrospect for a...

    Doors

It is surprising how close the tolerances are on the rods. My advice is to go door to door and comparatively look at the mechanisms while you move the handles. One of my rods was off by 1/16 or so which was the difference between not working at all vs working smoothly.

    Fuel Sending Unit

If it is jumping around, don't ignore the possibility that it is either the wire from the fuel gage to the sending unit that has deteriorated, or the 12V feed to the fuel gauge that has the same issue. Check those before you buy any more sending units.

    Engine Temp Incresing

    1. Not to be insulting, but are you sure the thermostat is installed in the correct direction? Don't assume the old one was installed correctly. 2. Do you have a fan clutch? Is it working properly? Should firm up solid with higher temps. If it slips you won't get the air you need. 3...

    Overspray on TA HOOD

I've never seen it in rattle can and the last time I bought it 4 years ago I paid $250 for a quart of NOS. It gives a distinctive look that I've never seen duplicated by a modern finish. Closest you can come is putting fine sand or similar into an almost flat black. Hard to apply. In you...

    Overspray on TA HOOD

The classic cleaner I have used for my organosol is windex. When things are bad, you follow with pledge.( No it doesn't create shine in the organosol.) I even used this successfully to clean a streak of type 4 brake fluid that had dripped on my hood. However, the challenge with overspray is...

    Need good cracking battery.

I've had the best experience with NAPA batteries versus the other big car part chain stores. And if you aren't big on accuracy, the Group 27 is a great suggestion.
