New Member Posting 1970 Barracuda Convertible acquired.

From a fellow So Cal enthusiast: Congrat's on the great pick up and welcome to the group! It sounds like her bones are in great shape, that's half the battle already won. Enjoy the journey, there's nothing like it! (I just noticed this is an older post resurrected, but all still applies)

    Turn Signal Switch headaches...

I'm tagging in a little late, but I just installed the same signal switch and it's defective, too. Switching it from the center position to either left or right felt way too tight at the get-go, and it felt like something was hanging up, as well. After installation, the signals blinked fine but...

    With a heavy heart

Some people will say "Oh, these are just material things." True, but when you lose something so near and dear to the heart, it has to be painful. I am so very sorry for you and your son's losses. Just heartbreaking...

    VIN Door Decal Month Determination

More good documentation for an August tag. That first one is the closest I've seen. Much appreciated!

Jumping in with both feet in So Cal

Hey, thanks Challenger RTA. Great story! I bet a lot of guys our age have similar stories about e-bodies that were denied us "for our own good". Time has a way of bringing our dreams back to reality!

    VIN Door Decal Month Determination

I can't say that I have found a definitive answer to that. I've heard anything from April 1970 to them being early early leftover installs on 1971s, which could be the case of mine as an early build. Even though I feel it is, I can't say with full certainty that it's original, either.

    VIN Door Decal Month Determination

Good info, that adds more useful pieces to the puzzle. Yep, K frame is on the "to do" list. Thanks much for your input!

Good point! It was a Hamtramck build (B).

    VIN Door Decal Month Determination

Hey, I never thought of that. If they keep any records they just might be able to assist. Appreciate the tip!

    VIN Door Decal Month Determination

I did have a look previously, but nothing to be found with the two coatings of KBS on it. It will probably be worth the effort to sand it down, though. Thanks!

    VIN Door Decal Month Determination

My 1971 BH has the following VIN numbers: 102123. My door VIN decal is missing and I'd like to replace it. The car is missing the fender tag and I don't have a build sheet. I'm not looking for the actual build day, just the month for the new door decal. The original 318 engine was an August 17...

    Spring Fling 36 SHOCKED ME

Congrats! Chatted with you for a bit Saturday morning. Appreciated you being there with your car to engage with, unlike many others that are nowhere to be found after three passes.

    71 'Cuda Project - Part 2

Yep, same here. It can appear as two different shades when looking at the top of the hood and then the underside under certain lighting conditions. Sometimes photos come out appearing as Lemon Twist. It is a unique color, for sure!
