A friend of mine told me how to kick start an original clock. Take the clock out of dash, pull cover from same and spray lightly with WD-40. Connect directly to battery. This should jump start the clock. I did this about a year and a half ago and it has been working just fine.

I am trying to find a way to restore the gray trim on the inner circle of a 72 taillight. Does anyone have any ideas short of taping up all the red and painting? How was it done back in the day? Also, what is the correct color/paint?

I found the problem was that I was putting teflon tape on the sending unit. It was screwing up the ground. Thanks to all for your suggestions and help. Sorry it took so long to get back. I've been away from the computer for a sometime.
Thanks for the info. I have tried everything suggested on the website you recommended. I have juice to the sending unit wire. I have check for juice at the gauge itself and have juice there(both points). At this point, I am going to take it for a extended drive this weekend to see what happens.
You are probably right about the gears. They were given to me; but I have not installed them yet. The stamped part number is 2070741. My tire size is P215/70R14. Any help will be appreciated.
