    34 year quest finally begins.

Great story! I'm looking forward to following this restoration. Please try and post pics as it goes on. Are you considering building a small block engine similar to what your dad built to go in the car?

    Speedometer issues.

Back in the day when I was a mechanic (before there were 'service techs') at a dealership we always used Lubriplate white lithium grease on speedometer cables. I still use white lithium grease on mine.

    Cooling help please

Definitely get rid of that flex fan! My nephew lost an eye when a blade flew off of one of those while he was working on a car. The Dr. said that if he hadn't been wearing his prescription glasses it probably would have gotten into his brain and killed him!

    Power steering seal tool recommendation

Why spend the money on something like that that you may only use one time? If you disassemble the steering shaft as far as he did in his post you are only a few more bolts away from being able to completely remove the assembly and use a regular drill. You will also have a lot more room to work...

    Suggestions for a engine

The Hellcat engine is a relatively easy swap, pretty much everything you would need is out there on the market and you can definitely use a small block 727. it will bolt right onto the hemi. That being said, I kind of agree with others' comments, I would probably go with the 400 you already have...

    Insurance Company

I was with Hagerty for years, but after the family sold the company the rates started going up until they had almost doubled. I found out that State Farm had classic car insurance and since I have pretty much everything else insured with them I checked on it. My Cuda is now insured with State...

    AAAHHHH ENGEENERS Who need them!

My grandson graduated a chemical engineer but now he is a nuclear engineer at a reactor near Phoenix! The kid is smart as hell but I'm not sure how much common sense he has. He seems to be doing really well though.

    Body shop experiences

I guess I'm the fortunate one here. I live about 30 miles from the border of Mexico and there is a body shop in the little town just across the border, which has been owned by the same guy for about 30 years. He has been doing paint and body for 40 years and all of his guys are trained by him...

So this is where we are at!

Well, that explains why he's such a gearhead now! You started him early!🤣

    Need some advise please!

The car is going to need rust repair, which will remove it from the realm of 'survivor cars' so that selling point is off the table! Personally I wouldn't trade your Challenger straight across for the Charger, he would be the one kicking in the cash! I can understand you really wanting a Charger...

    Stock 340 - Swap 3.23 for 3.91 gears - is Suregrip overkill?

    You're absolutely right! I'm 70 now and I use a floor jack.
