Can someone tell me if both trunk drop off dimensions are the same for a '74 challenger? I'm replacing them and qtrs but I'm having fitment issues and there is like an 1" or so difference in width an difference from where the rear valiance bolts on. i would assume they should be the same.
sorry i was wrong i have about 12 -13 in Hg of vacuum, but at idle in park. What do you think about these numbers: 1st # is cylinder, 2nd is compression, 3rd is leak down. i guess my thinking is the motor has less than 200 miles on it and thought the compression would be more around the 150-160...
i was thinking my vacuum readings were low also so i did a compression test and I'm between 110 and 125. this is a new rebuilt 1978 360 motor bored .020 flat top pistons heads have been shaved (don't remember how much) and reworked new valves and all with a 280/280, Lift .474/.474 cam.
i think it was more of the timing than anything but after i set it to 38* with out the advance i had a little to much gap between the pump arm and the adjustment bolt and spring and then i used a vacuum gauge and tuned the air mixture screws to smooth it out and i have about 13 cm of intake vacuum
does anyone know if the flip top gas caps are vented or not. i have a locking cap now and no canister and when i opened the cap today after a test run it sucked in alot of air and i actually heard the gas tank pop (yeah not) I assume because of no ventilation. could be part of my issue as well.
thanks for the comments, yes the flat spot is from an idle. I'm going to get some additive and take a look into the carb. Right now I'm running a total timing of 38. I also am running a vacuum advance with my 360 bored .020 heads shaved with oversized valves with a .238 cam. i did find a fuel...
Yes I run pump gas in it with ethanol with no additives. freshly built motor brand new Holley 670 street avenger with about 50 miles on it. i say new but i put it on there first of Jan. hardly gets driven. when it is cold its a nice crisp response.
