my '71 was a point car. went to the dual point setup- in 72---Mallory--still have it... went with the OEN Mopar electronic distributor.. not much trouble there should indentations in the fire wall for the control box which has a mounting bracket...had a lot of problems with JUNK ballast...

got the part, everything works. nice bright lights---thanks

converted front turn signal light bulbs to LED. worked....installed LEDs in rear --brake and turn signal. nothing works including front signal bulbs...do I need to do something to the electrical system to get the LED bulbs to work..do they draw more current??? do I need a heavy duty flasher...

got to replace steering box on my '71 challenger small block, power steering. which part number, for Borgeson?? also cooler is recommended, how was installation, any pictures and hose routing would be helpful. Michael 71 challenger

Yes it is a 5 pin ECU. BUT I went to a non ballast resistor coil.. 2 pin or 4 pin no longer needed

eliminated the ballast resistor...went to a non resistor coil

in the rear, where the steering wheel goes in, large outside seal

1. electronic ignition. upgrade from 71 Mallory duel point. all wires match correct color on wiring diagram. stock mechanical fuel pump--plenty of gas. 2. will not start now..ran once for about a minute, them shut down. crank and did fire, but no run. 10 timed and tuned. spent most of day...

on 3rd ballast resistor. new one installed when hooking up wiring harness. no good. was very hot. tested no good at store. #2, first start on the rebuild. timed and adjusted carb. spent part of day starting engine.Been I shop for about 10 days everything was fine. Ralley gauges worked. tried...

trying to get the "71 running..power Steering box leaking. Napa list one for $149.95. But none in stock. need a source. seen a new smaller one advertised for $650--option. is there an alternative to the power system or just manual .??

UP DATE. was gasket. very old probably OEM.. Of course Chrysler discontinued that part. Made one out of karopak [dark grey]. No more leak----thanks
