don't know where the water pump housing came from but on my big blocks the boss that the bracket bolts to appears to be too short. I would try some bushings and for the belt try one a half inch longer.

I use Gunk engine cleaner on the engine and K member and 409 on the engine compartment painted surfaces. Then I use a garden hose to wash it away.

Not hard to modify the base plate if you have one to sacrifice. I cut the center out of this 383 base plate and tacked in a 440 center plate to lower it for a 440 install. I have this one listed for sale on this site.

The only problem I had was with a new speaker grill that had longer standoffs causing it to sit high.
