    422 Stroker Small Block

Have a question on using my block and top end, turning it into a 422 c.i. motor. What do you figure the approximate cost would run with you providing a stroker kit, machine work, labor for a running motor? Two things you would need to do is machine a dip stick hole in the block as the "R3" race...

What to look for rust-wise on a 1972 Cuda

The information members provided covers about everything for E-bodies. I made the biggest mistake of everyone when purchasing my E-body. Flew in from Denver CO to Bear Lake MN, took an hour to look at the car, made the purchase and flew back out (all within an afternoon). Once car was home...

    Hello from CO & UT

Sorry for the late reply, been out of town. Biggest "no-no" for first time racers: cars/trucks - no seat belts, bald tires, batteries not secure, leaking liquids, automatics in gear with motor turned off can be started (switch adjustment or bad switch allowing this to happen)..... Motorcycles...

    74 challenger mini tubs

Like mentioned we did mini tubs just moving the tub to the frame rail & welding in a 3" patch in the center of the tub all the way from the floor & frame to right under the rear seat. This allows a 12 in wide tire without rubbing.

    Hooker or TTI headers?

Like the old saying "NO SHI.", get an infection from burns and you'll spend the difference saved on medical bills. :icon_eek:

    caltrac rear suspension

When we rebuilt my 70 Challenger I pulled the heavy Super Stock springs and then purchased the Cal Trak system with the lowering kit to get away from the old Super Stock (butt in the air) look. Their 2-1/2" lowering kit put the car down like today's Pro Stock cars (Allan Johnson's car)...

trying to get my challenger into the 12s

Go slow and rethink everything, you'll save time and money plus get what you want. :icon_thumbdown: Your doing it the right way, see so many jump from one end to the other and never get everything coming together. I'm about to the end of drag racing now, been at it since 1955 to 2005 so 50...

    Hello from CO & UT

Hello, Many of you know me from other forums or at the races with the different Mopars through the years. If not racing in competition I'm teching cars for NHRA or local track owners (I have found the best ideas on improving my ride by checking yours or others). Look at the Pro Stockers when...

1970 Dodge Challenger RT [Pro ET - Race Only]

NHRA Index figures show 11.50s at 5,860' (a mile high) is equal to low 10s at sea level. We figured the car would run mid 10s at the "Mopars At The Strip" event in Vegas next year for the new owner. My '69-1/2 Dodge in 1970-72 could run under the AHRA/NHRA Indexes in Denver all the time...

    By that fall of '62 I changed cars again getting out of making a car payment on a vehicle that wasn't legal for street use a '60 Pontiac A/S car. BANDITO I - 1962-65 - 1959 DODGE D500 - H/SA-I/SA BANDITO II -1966-67 - 1964 DODGE 330 - B/SA-C/SA BANDITO III - 1969-72 - 1969 DODGE...

trying to get my challenger into the 12s

Who's going to open up those little ports, they need some work by a professional. If you don't know what your doing in this area its worth finding a shop with a CNC machine that does this type of work. Shadey Dell in PA or Indy Cyl do excellent work at fair prices. This set was done by Mad Cap...

trying to get my challenger into the 12s

My '70 Challenger has been a race car much of its life, when purchased it weighted in at 3422 lbs. race ready with back seat legal G/SA that ran in the 11.70s in Brainerd MN. When first tested off the trailer, same weight just 1000' higher in Denver CO it was a second slower running 12.70s. The...

trying to get my challenger into the 12s

Use to be an AHRA/NHRA [SFI Certified} Tech Official, ran the certified scale at div. events - most E-Body cars without the roof covering, minus air cleaner, no spare or jack go across the scales in the 3460 lb range (that's with radio, power steering, AC, auto trans, etc. Like said go to the...

trying to get my challenger into the 12s

904 "slam and bangs" (stock elimator setup that you rebuild every other outing) are 101.3 lbs lighter than a 727 with the same light weight parts. Weighting piece by piece is not the way to determine what you have saved, like mentioned the car needs to be checked on a scale (use the same...

trying to get my challenger into the 12s

Your talking small block, they will run as good as any small block at twice the price. When talking cutting weight, remember removing weight in some case really hurts the value of your ride when it comes time to sell, now it's not a collector but just a race car. The other guys (companies)...
