Cool, nice job. I like the Stealth throttle body myself. The Sniper kind of looks odd to me so thankfully it was under the air cleaner. Most people didn't even realize it was EFI unless I took off the air cleaner.
This was the drop-base air cleaner that I used on my '68 Coronet. Not an E Body...
I'm not sure why you'd want to do this, there's no point. In general, you wouldn't use a mechanical distributor with EFI anyway so you'd actually be wasting $70 for an irrelevant part.
Far as I know, the only reason those adapters exist is if someone decides to go from a RB to a low deck block...
They actually do but they call it a Hyperspark distributor. It's basically an MSD distributor with a hall-effect trigger wheel inside.
Definitely get the EFI ignition stuff. A lot of guys cheap out and skip those parts because the system will still work without them but only in a limited...
Thank you.
For whatever reason, I tend to respond a lot of EFI questions on forums. It's probably because there's still a lot of misconceptions about it and it's fun to dispel myths. I've done a few of them and know what it takes to make them work. I am in no way an expert and have a lot to...
Holley Sniper or Terminator X, wouldn't consider anything else. I'm on my 3rd Holley EFI conversion with my Challenger. There's a huge online community for support and tons of aftermarket accessories out there now to expand it's functionality. Holley just recently rolled out a Bluetooth module...
When using any type of CD ignition a la an "MSD," you have to "tie IGN 1 and IGN 2 together" so this type of thing is nothing new. The Holley Hyperspark ignition is basically a re-badged MSD box and the Hyperspark distributor has an MSD logo on it. It's all the same stuff.
The best way to tap...
A few years ago I had a '68 Coronet that I rewired with an AAW kit and installed a Holley Sniper. Here's how I get 12V in crank and run since I don't use a ballast resistor. This is a 1968 ignition switch which is in the dash but it's the same idea for '70-up switches in the column - installing...
Wow! Thank you!
I'm being honest when I say there have been several times where I've just gone out into the garage to look at as if it was calling me. I wish I could snap my fingers and have it be done.
I've used AAW kits myself and find their stuff lacking as well. Both times I've used them I ended up removing a bunch of extra wire an found myself re-doing large portions of the main harness. And using GM connectors in Chrysler harnesses is less than ideal. The TXL wiring is decent though and...
From the pictures I've seen of it, the Pro Flo ECU and harness appears similar to the Holley EFI stuff. I can't see how you'd want the entire harness in the engine bay if it's even possible. I have a Holley Terminator X and mocking it up I learned pretty quick there is not a lot of room to mount...
Not an E body but in my old '76 D100 I got 13mpg highway/10mpg around town.
Stock, lo-po 400 short block, (maybe 8:1? probably more like 7.8:1) early '70s iron heads with small valves, Performer RPM intake, .484" Ricky Racer purple cam, (yep) rebuilt by me Holley 3310, generic headers, dual...
Thanks. Yes, the plan is to make it into a '71, I prefer the look over the '70s. Not sure if I will go full R/T with the '69 Camaro side scoops but probably...
I have not purchased a grille yet. I'm nowhere near needing one right now so I let it slide for the moment. I'll need tail lights and...
This will be my resto/build thread for my '72 Challenger. For the back story, please refer to this link.
Here's a quick outline of what is planned for this thing;
4 speed conversion
install Trick-Flow headed, low-deck 470" stroker to replace the blown up small block
Complete rewire with...
Thanks for the pics, much appreciated. Confirms that there is actually very little room in that area.
I have multiple little boxes that I will need to find homes for so this is not going to be an easy decision.
