    727 sfi case

    Good to know

    727 sfi case

Indeed, there's a certain amount of kudos keeping stuff "All Mopar" but it's getting more difficult 8-)

    727 sfi case

Catastrophic failure of the front drum is the worst, the std sintered drum can literally explode if the sprag fails and pieces can find they way through the car body. As John Cope said he doesn't think that case would contain such a failure but if you into an aftermarket case you WILL be fitting...

    Street / Strip '74

Bought in '89 with a small block 318, we've gone through a lot of running gear changes and worked our way through the et's over the years. Best ET so far is 9.46 @ 145.9, though we are hoping to get into the 8's with the big engine. Car weighs 4023lb, it's N/A, all steel (bar the hood) and has a...

    727 sfi case

Could I ask who's 727 can handle 2K HP ? All the g'box builders I spoke to told me 1000lb/ft (1200 ish H/P) was about the limit for an all out 727. We'll be around 1700hp with N2O so this would be a better option cost wise than going to an aftermarket case or th400 type. EDIT: A bit more...

    Air filter size matter

I think it was, if I'm thinking of the same test they used a generic BBC, around 500 H/P (maybe it was more?) and then listed each filter as good for up to XXX H/P based on metered airflow. The K and N supported a much higher airflow but wasn't the best. The link to the test below shows a 14 x...

    Air filter size matter

In the Engine Masters test, the clear winner was the "salad bowl" with a 14" K and N "Extreme" filter top on it (similar to the above). Adding velocity stacks also had good results.

    Air filter size matter

If the filter was a restriction and the carb was tuned with the restrictive filter on, theoretically installing a less restrictive (taller) filter would cause the fuel curve to be lean (especially at hi rpm and load).

    Flex plate

I always thought they only went on one way due to the offset hole ?

Edelbrock Hemi Heads Vs. TFS 270 Heads

Back in the late 80's when I decided to mess with big blocks, Hemi's were just wayyy to expensive and difficult to find in the UK so I've sorta stuck with wedges. The 655 we recently re-built made well over 1200Hp N/A but I'm pretty sure the dyno is optimistic, the timing tickets will tell the...

Edelbrock Hemi Heads Vs. TFS 270 Heads

Agree on the conv/gear choice being important but strangely it's stuff he had hanging around, he might have just got lucky. 9" ford rear BTW. The hemi was recently rebuilt, he changed it due to a water leak, I'm not sure if the leak was an internal one but I got that impression. He'd run the...

Edelbrock Hemi Heads Vs. TFS 270 Heads

A guy I know switched from a 572ci Hemi to a 499ci Wedge with TF 270's for this season. He's almost 2 tenths faster than the hemi was. I asked if he'd done anything else, he said he had a different converter and numerically lower rear gears. I was surprised but not as much as him

ARE THERE ANY HP ORIENTED MOPAR BOARDS?

Thanks but I don't consider myself an expert I just have some experience with my cars and I'm happy to share if it's relevant to the topic  I'm always happy to learn and I think there are a few more racers on this page, we just don't see them often. I also think a lot of racers / race...
