there is a fiberglass insulation panel used in suspended ceilings that works well, just peel off the white stuff and cover with some plastic of some kind(garbage bag)

one other thing to consider is to replace your collector flange with a ball and socket system by mmagna flow , real nice and tight fit , no gaskets to blow out
