    Aluminum Radiator question

NoCar340 - Many thanks for your explanation regarding the thermostat. As many times I have read about this issue, here and other sites, I never had it pointed out to me as succinct as the photo you posted. I always thought a thermostat was a thermostat...Hmmm? BTW - I did some research with...

    WTB Wanting Classic Mopars

My reply is strictly inquiry and curiosity, but how much are you willing to spend on a Challenger that is say > wedg2go Garage . Hopefully, you're not a scammer...In this day and age, who knows any more.

    Fans, Shrouds and Other Things

budascuda - silly of me to over think the lop, of this engine, is a little like starting - stopping and that I have "Never" had the opportunity to ever own/drive any ride, through all the years of car ownership, with a fan clutch. So, it's a little bit of a mystery to me and for what it's worth...

You’re right moparleo! Important information about the engine was left out. Apologies for creating a vague post. The 440: It's bored .060 over with Stage III Mopar Performance heads * Edelbrock Chrysler Six Pack intake manifold * Date code correct Holley Carburetors * MSD Ignition * Comp Roller...

    Fans, Shrouds and Other Things

My 440 is running a genuine stock Chrysler radiator - 22" wide (3) core - with a stock (6) wide blade fan and stock shroud. I am entertaining the idea of going with (2) 10" electric fans that will pull 2100 cfm. From what I read, this is enough to handle 800 hp. Not really a fan of electric...

    The useless thread

Pity the cities can't dedicate more to cleaning up. Pity, as well, we can't educate the masses once again about tossing their refuse in a container (remember the old public announcements on tv? The one with the Native American on the painted pony with a tear running down his face after viewing...

    Engine Oil

The answer to your first question: Mobil 1 contains 1000 ppm of ZDDP. Admittedly, this is bare minimum for any flat tappet cam. Royal Purple contains a little less (A great debate with car show gearheads). I wouldn't go over 1150 ppm, thinking more is better. Which leads me to answer your second...

    Engine Oil

We must know the same "Folks." From my understanding, either one is good. I just happen to lean towards Mobile 1. The reason? If I remember right, Royal Purple contained a little less zinc and Mobile 1 - as mentioned for flat tappets - was in the ballpark. BTW - There are brands out there...

    The useless thread

My little drive, yesterday, prove to be unsuccessful. My ride left me stranded in town for an hour. So, getting out tomorrow might be a "Maybe" at this time. Grrrrr. "IF" I chance it, "NO", I'm meeting with no one. I'm going rogue on this one. Besides, I wouldn't want anyone to suffer with me...

    The useless thread

^^^ Yikes! Looks like a "Conspiracy" to me. ^^^ Anyway... Revamped the cooling system on my ride. New 180 thermostat, bottom hose and fresh anti-freeze. Added a heat sleeve to my fuel line - which I had reservations about, but it looks great! Hopefully cured the vapor lock blues. Test driving...

    Engine Oil

KennyCuda - Just to echo what everyone else has said - Your choice for Mobil 1 synthetic oil is an excellent choice! Especially, if you're running a non-roller setup. ZDDP is vital for classic build, flat tappet motors and Mobil 1 comes off the store shelves with just the right amount in the...
