Door hinge pin keeps creeping out

Yes fiberglass doors, pin is not long enough to drill/install cross pin. Heres 2 pictures, let me know if somethings "missing" as i did this 20 years ago as a "green" mopar guy....lol

Door hinge pin keeps creeping out

Back in the day I replaced my door hinge pins & bushings. Ever since I replaced my steel doors with fiberglass ones, my driverside upper door hinge pin keeps creeping up. One/close the door a few times and its moved up almost a 1/4 inch. Any tips or real fix for this? I'm starting to think about...

    Speedo gear housing markings

It works, thanks guys for your input. Now I just gotta get the correct speedo gear. Looks like i was off by 3 teeth, need a 40T not a 37T. Speedo is off by 8 mph but 100x better/more accurate then the 25T gear that was in there, shoulda done this 20 years ago....lol

    Tire size affect speedo?

Another easy way to figure out what size speedo gear you need is to calculate the percent error from your indicated speed by your actual speed. That is the percent change required in tooth count. Add that to your current speedo gear. I am in the middle of doing this myself.

    Speedo gear housing markings

I will try that and I hope it works. I did some more googling and it seems there are 2 different housings. One only has the index for the 21-25T (the one i have), and the other housing has the indexing for the 3 groups (26-31, 32-38, 39-45).

    Speedo gear housing markings

I am replacing my speedo gear (tranny is a 1976 B727), going from 25 teeth to 37 teeth. My housing however only has the markings for the 21-25 tooth and nothing else. The new housings don't have a alignment mark for 21-25T but do have a blank spot on it. Can I assume this spot would be for the...

Stroked and Supercharged 440 Timing Help

The blue advance bushing should give you 21° total so if you start at 10°,you'll get 31° total. Which i would think is not enough but if the overheating is still there (not effected by the base timing) then you could adjust for 15° inital (36° total) without having to change the advance bushing...

Stroked and Supercharged 440 Timing Help

My 2 cents: if its heating up way to fast from a cold start it maybe a lean condition. I myself don't have a blower (not yet anyways) or a choke on the carb. My idle afm is at 18:1 - 20:1afm on a cold start. It settles at 13.5 once the motor is warm. Could this be your issue? Does it still idle...

    Original Strut Rods Needed

I posted a thread Are Strut bars heated treated? Yes or no awhile ago and the feeling was just to straighten them. I clamped the straight part of the bar, warmed up the bent part just a bit, slid a pipe over the bar and bent it back. Some members here just lay it on the ground and hammered it...

    Original Strut Rods Needed

I orginally ordered a set of Q1A strut bars from summit but after some miss-communication they cancelled my order. So i just ended up straighten them. Works good, and easy to do

    DIY Home Alignment?

I turn the wheel 20° left (driverside), zero the gauge, then turn the wheel straight + another 20° and thats the caster. I use my hub stands on car dollies (with jacking up the rear so ride height is the same) and then sometimes i will double check it with the tires on, on the ground, with the...

    headers again

(warning: false hope) I used Hedman Street Headers #75060, 2” primary into 3” collector, on my 74, 383 auto slap stick with a mini starter. These are 5 piece headers and i had no clearance issues. However I don't think they make these anymore. Before I had a normal set of headers, 1 5/8" into...

    DIY Home Alignment?

Finally drove the car yesturday, just around town and it handled ok. No real pulling to one side or wondering. I had to do the alignment twice since the passengerside suspension finally settled after i put the wheels back on. I have my ride height set fairly high so best I could do is 1° caster...

Rebuilt Diff - Posi Growls only when HOT

I am running green bearings and have been since 1999. I have a aftermarket "dog tooth" style posi unit and so far haven't had any issues. I found out after the fact that they can't handle side loads very well so i just slow down on corners

    LCA slop in pivot area

Just make sure that your adjuster blocks still fit after you clamp it all together. Some aftermarket adjuster blocks are wider and won't fit "in the groove/notch" when the lca slop is repaired.

Are Strut bars heated treated? Yes or no

My driverside strut bar is bent and I am thinking about trying to straighten it. Does anyone know if these bars are heat treated?

    DIY Home Alignment?

It worked on the wifes 09 jeep and on my 07 Ram. Toe in/out just needed alittle tweaking after test drive. When I did it on the challenger I had a complete brain fart and didn't notice that the driverside had positive caster (bent strut bar) and the passenger side had negitive caster. (I was...
