The voltage limiter reduces the voltage to 5v. If there are no provisions or instructions to install the voltage limiter. I would say it's not needed. If all else fails read the instructions or contact the retailer or manufacture. Some one here has probably done this. They might let you know.
From what I recall from seeing the picture of the coupler. The key is where the notch is. It's more so the absence of one spline. Things I was looking for. Twisted splines form not being fully seated then used. To me they look ok. Rough or distorted splines from misaligned install and forced...
Start with posting a picture of what you have. Splines of cup and shaft. There could be a manufacturing defect. There are some informed members here. Yes there should be a keyed area. When it was installed the first time it might have cut it's own splines.
There are two different couplers...
I have 3 garages now and still not enough room. 24x24, 28x28 and a 30x 40. Looking to build a 40 x 60 next on the neighbors property.
I get that!
But some how I manage it! I work outside! 1million candle power per sq foot on a sunny day. Hard to duplicate.
In my option. You will and I mean you will have sellers remorse. From what I can see. you have the space to. Get the elbow grease out and clean Pressure wash the engine bay it all might come off. Then paint. There are some good paint rattle cans out there. I would drop in the motor and drive...
I Have to think EXCUDAME is spot on. It is hard to diagnose a problem off hand.
I try to think one step beyond. What was the cause. Normal wear and tear, a weight come off converter, or the thrust bearings going bad. Been there seen it. Just my 2¢. just about worthless
:poke: Great work anyhow! No really Nice work! Sorry about the jab. You'll know the next time. I've been jab about stuff too.
The other day someone came to buy something off of me. First thing he said look at all the race cars! His curiosity was peaked of what was under the tarp. He...
Key point! It's the same as using a screw driver as a chisel. Exceeding the tools limit. Like none of use have ever done it. 🙄 Then not maintaining it by put the correct edge on it.
The ammeter is not the problem. It's the connections and others as mentioned as above.
7: Run test: This is for stock Mopar charging system.
Before doing the run test you're going to want to connect directly to the field output terminal on the alternator with some sort of a jumper wire. You can remove the existing field wire if it helps you to get to it. Use a jumper wire that...
This is for stock Mopar charging system.
1:With the key in the off position should have on the alternator output battery voltage.
2:The field wires should both read zero we should have no voltage.
3: If there is voltage at the field wires with the key off, there is a wiring problem.
4: If no...
Alternator is probably going bad. When the battery is connected there is always power the alternator. Ergo draining through the short in the alternator. That is the better possibility. There could be others.
Get the battery charged up and disconnect the alternator black wire over night. Or take...
