That's true because the Torker intake is for square bore carbs. I have a Holley and a spacer for that engine. But the 318 that is still in the car has a factory 340 intake and a Thermoquad now. It runs well and I like the Thermoquad. The weather is finally getting nice and I took my 'cuda for a...
Hi DFR360,
I got the seats back from Weinmanns and they were a bit more expensive than I expected. $455 for the covers from Legendary and $424 with tax to have them installed. But they look SUPER. Just thought I would let you know for future reference.
From what you told me, I think I will have...
I should have replied about this sooner. I did get the 318 running well eventually. The problem was a strange one. There was a hole in the bottom of the intake manifold where a pipe plug deteriorated. Who would have thought to look there? So I replaced the intake with a factory 1972 four barrel...
From the photos that you sent it looks like I should have plenty of room without the 1" spacer at least. My situation with hood clearance is very similar to yours. I have a hood insulation pad that is taking up a little space but it wouldn't be a problem to remove that.
I sure do appreciate your...

My drivers seat has splits in a few of the seams so I will get them both redone so they match. I have an appointment to bring them to the upholstery shop on January 4th. Weimann's Interiors in Delmont did such a nice job on my Demon's seats so that is where I am taking the "Cuda seats.
I am...
Hi Dfr3604cuda,
Thanks for the reply. I would like to check it out and see your 'CUDA.
Finleyville isn't far from Greensburg.
Hopefully the covid thing will be over soon.
Matt
Sounds like you have plenty of work to do now. That 318 could be bored and stroked to a 390 if you wanted more get up. But most people would advise starting with a 340 or a 360 block since the cost would about the same.
I run 15" x 8" with 3.75 back spacing on the rear of mine. The tire is a 275/60 R15. There is still room on the inside and the outside would be close if the suspension were about an inch and a half lower. So if your wheels have a 4 to 4.250 backspacing you should be good.
I can't say anything...
