Not my strong area of expertise but I finally got it. I was about ready to start pulling my steering column apart to look at the key cylinder that was brand new, but my better sense told me the odds are not there for this issue. These are the simple things that are so easy to overlook and...
I woke up today and it was a new day. After a lot of thinking I decided to look at my ECU orange box again. The system was purchased 15 years ago as a Mopar electronic ignition conversion. It came with a new Mopar distributor, orange box and the wiring harness. It has ran or many years nwith...
I have been having issues with my motor actually only starting when I release the key?? Car ran fine for many years, As a precaution I installed a new ballast resistor, a new coil, and a new orange box. I did replace the ignition key several months ago and it was starting fine after...
Well I thought I fixed it with a new coil, but today changed everything. So I installed a new ballast resistor and it would crank over fine but no fire in the hole. So I changed the ECU orange box with a new one I bought from Mancini Racing. So now, I can crank and crank but when I let go...
Found it. I had the light bar out of the car to test the bulbs and thanks to your drawing I found the small bulb holder with the one screw attached to the light bar. I must have unplugged the bulb from the light bar and forgot I did it. Stlll doing a slow walk to get things tested. Thanks much.
Hey thats very nice. Thank You. I see the yellow with black tracer and it is labeled switch/title lamp. I am confused by that wording. Is that to say that it lights up the switch panel and the titles of each switch? Does anyone know exactly where it gets mounted to on that switch panel...
I was checking my dash lights for the 3 bulb lightbar. I am assuming that lightbar has to be screwed to the dash frame to make the bulbs work as that is the ground for the 3 bulbs. While looking in around my switch panel I found a bulb on the end of a yellow wire with a black tracer. I have...
Your Welcome. I was told the coils can be fine and then decide to cause issues and then be fine again. Thats what was confusing me. That is why I figured to just change the coil before looking at the ballast resistor or the ECM box which I have the Orange box. I can do most anything, but...
My 70 340 has been running fine. I went out to the heated garage a few weeks ago. Pumped and started the engine. Once the fuel got there she started right up. I put her in reverse and backed her out onto the driveway. I was trying to test the dash lightbar which has not seemed to be...
Bill Hirsch and brush it on. Don't run the motor for a good week so it can harden. Best paint. Lays down real nice and Hemi Orange is a little off color from the Hemi Orange that EV2 on the body color is.
I am in need of the screw that holds the turn signal are. It goes thru the directional signal assembly and screws into the end of the directional arm??
I can see that now. But my housing is all together, directional signal switch, A01 ignition key lamp and I did not want to take it apart again. I just bought the tool to release the bullet plugs and I think I will just remove that nylon end and do it that way. Thanks guys....
Crush can is off. But I also have the turn signal switch installed along with the V01 ignition switch lamp and all that needs to come off before I can remove that section shown in my ohotos. That really does not make sense to me? I think for me, I would rather remove the 4 wires by...
Hi. I am trying to install my cruise control/directional arm in the steering column. The white nylon plug will not go through the small square hole in the column housing?? Do I have to pull those wires out of the nylon plug and insert them first and then install the plug after?? Seems odd...
OK folks. Got it. I read a post on here about the connectors to the ballast resistor and elsewhere. So I went out and just wiggled the wires on the ballast connector and the car started right up. The wires looked brand new, but I guess when these cars sit they have a way of corroding inside...
Changed ballast resistor and still having same problem. As long as I hold key in the start position the car will run. As soon as I release the key the engine stops? I think my ECU may be faulty.
