Welcome from another NC member. From the pictures it looks like you are somewhere in the western part of the state like me. Good luck with the project.
Seeing this one and some of the cars in the post with all the back in the days pics that were jacked up with air shocks brought back old memories. Somebody at work asked me about gas mileage I was getting with my Cuda and another older guy overheard and said "no wonder it's so good; you're...
I couldn't help noticing the trailer hitch. I built one to go on my 74 so I could pull a motorcycle trailer and then the bass boat I bought in 77. I was running
Thrush mufflers bolted to the headers and no pipes so I ran the braces to the frame through the cut-outs. Finally got a pick-up about...
This conversation was very timely for me. Mine is at the painters now and I hadn't really thought about that door decal. I guess he would have known but better safe than sorry. I'd rather have the original still on there even if it is aged. As I've said before, this is my first experience with a...
I had seen where you had one of the Plymouth emblems but it was sold before I got back to it again. Mine is broke right in the middle of the "H" but you can't really tell it when it's on the car. I had never seen those for sale on any of the resto parts suppliers sites. I've got other things I...
I ran air shocks on my Cuda after the first couple of years from new. The Cudas seemed to sit too low also. When I started restoring, I put heavy duty springs on that the Hemi cars used. It's a little stiffer ride but sits at a good height and feels fine to me.
Thanks Leo; just now saw your reply. This restoration stuff is all new to me so I appreciate all the knowledge from you guys that know more. I've learned a lot just from reading other peoples posts about the things you run into. I'm having someone paint my car but I want to know I'm using the...
Just curious to hear what others think about keeping or removing these when restoring an E-body that has them. I'm planning to have mine repainted this spring and will be having the bumpers re-chromed. I've had the car since new and, other than engine performance upgrades and wheels, I think I...
My dad bought a slant-six duster in 1970 and I was 15 yrs. old. I sat in a butterscotch 383 cuda with billboard stripes in the showroom while he did his deal. I remember being thrilled to see 150 on the speedometer. Three years later, when he convinced me to buy a new car instead of some guy's...
74 Cuda shoulder belt retractor is in the side panel below the rear window crank and lap belt retractor is bolted to floor below sill plate. Ash tray is in back end of console and seat backs are soft upholstered.
Finally had some time to do some checking and of course it was working right after I checked ground and for voltage drop to VR. I was at 12v at the battery and 11.7 at the bulkhead disconnect, the plug on the steering column going to ignition switch and the input terminal to the VR. The back...
