Take it off and inside is a nut that when loosened allows you to rotate the spring.
I use hot water to figure out how much to move it.
If it works I’d be interested as well.
They are pins.
I used tweezers, one on each side, to lift it out.
Do it in an area where you can find it if it comes flying out.
