Does it not come with the 71-74 trim? 70 is pure snap on. 71 up has that securing tab. I have not had to buy any trim, so I don't know.

Originally, they had a sheet thickness moulded plastic cup, the size of the stepdown. That won't work for you as your scoop and hood have been opened uo. So anything you want to add will be fine. Even just vinyl tape across the holes. The only contact should be around the studs
