thinking of putting my 452s back on a B block, came off a 440. I need schooling on the Mopar valvetrain ie: how are they adjusted with the fixed rockers, do i have to measure for new pushrods? I have a set of 270 trick flows, rockers are adjustable so just measured for pushrod length and set the...
Willwoods are on and they fixed the clearance issue, 11" rotor and the calipers clear my billet 15x10s.
Next issue, of course the brake line and banjo dont work! lol, oh well. the calipers are 1/8-27 but what size are the hard lines on the car?
Ok here goes. I am installing a set of Billet specialtys 15x10 on the rear and the disc brake caliper is binding on the inside of the wheel when i tighten the lugs. I am about to start grinding on the caliper housing. wondering if the caliper height for aerospace or wilwood brakes might be less...
Hate to admit it but i did not ream the bushing! Hard lesson learned if that did it.
At the least, i will go back with the AR cover and properly fit the bushing.
I took my B block to the machine shop today and we will start planning the build later this week after it’s cleaned and checked...
mancini, either way i think they source the same supplier. Anyway, cam is pushed forward and seized and i cannot turn the crank either. Depressing since i was bringing it home from the paint shop. It was a motorhome 440, cast crank and rods with icon pistons. I loaded up my 400 B block on the...
lol, I will show you! Just got the timing cover off. Two piece button w bearing, under acceleration I think distributor gear pushed the cam forward, deceleration cam moved back and button fell off. That’s what I see anyway. Factory timing cover so that’s the weak link I think.
440, hyd roller, double row timing gear, Trick Flow Cam, Distributor has bronze gear, I installed a cam button w .005 clearance or very close to that. There is now an outward impression on the Timing cover. openening things up further today. There is carnage somewhere, while running it started...
Very happy with it, paint is not perfect, still some little stuff to do. Bumper pieces have shipped, rear side markers on the way, car has fiberglass fenders and hood so no front side markers, will work that out later if i need to. Unfortunately i put my foot in it driving home and ended up...
Oh boy! Well lets open the can of worms and demons!
The color is Silver Ice Metallic, a GM color! Its a 318 base car so not worried about it. street/strip car so just want it to look good and go faster than it looks.
Should have the car back from the paint shop this week or next.
Making some progress, motorhome 440, TFS heads, New Pistons, Lunati cam, TFS intake, Holley, etc etc. Motor and Trans by me, bodywork and paint by Underdog. Just got paint on yesterday. pics to come
