    1974 Challenger upgrades

I like the 74 Rallye and since I added the the 360 the hood was next (after some color sanding) was done; I did pick up some fender scoops/inserts and I also needed a passenger side mirror - so I like them body color - not installed yet, but the parts a ready; They are kind of a pain to...

    1974 Challenger upgrades

Still moving forward - I have been focusing on the rear since I never liked how the quarter turned out - this is much better. still needs a little color sanding and some paint work in front of the wheel opening, but I like this much better; The tailights took some time to get the paint how I...

I know I am a few months behind, but Welcome to the site! I love looking at pics of project cars, it helps motivate me seeing what others are doing. Got any more pictures? I would like to see them!

Strip or Blast or Sand Advice

The clear coat was a paint store rattle can as well, I sprayed it after the base coat kicked off - basically like it was another coat of color only on the heavy side. The idea was to get it to lay as smooth as possible without runs or dry patches. I ended up using factory steel valve covers due...

Strip or Blast or Sand Advice

Mine wasn't black, but I wanted to clean it up, so I took the do it yourself (rattlecan) approach. I clean it thoroughly, sanded and primed the surfaces before applying auto paint store mixed color and clear coat. Ten years later and it still looks pretty good. It's held up good. Surface prep...

    Hood scoop tape

Who makes or where can you get the inserts?

    Hood scoop tape

    The Challenger inserts (opening) are a little smaller. I am still debating what to do with my opening - I am toying with making my own screen inserts: The rest of the car still needs work, I am slowly making headway. I need the bulge to allow for air cleaner clearance when I added the 360;

    Hood scoop tape

On my Challenger I added a thin foam tape tape to the scoop side of the interface which collapsed when the scoop tightened down, so I could prevent "metal" to "metal" contact on the freshly painted hood - this seemed to work well; The Challenger has an open space behind the scoop much like you...

    72 Hardtop

Welcome to the site! For what its worth, I would look at the car as needing almost all new sheet metal, a fender (at least one), hood, one quarter (possibly both - can't tell from the pics), a deck lid. I would expect the trunk and floors to need a lot of work based on what I see, but I could...

    Rear acle help please

I have seen offsets from side to side - mine is offset by around a 1/4 inch, but never seen that amount. I am wondering if adding a spacer (1/2-3/4 inch) to the drivers side would help the visual part and not affect anything else? Just a thought....

FOR SALE 1973 Challenger 318 Complete

Like anything the value is all in what someone will pay for it. I bought a 74 Challenger about 10 years ago in a similar condition for 5k - it was a runner that hadnt been run in a few years sort of thing. I purchased it from friends that needed the money and I struggled to get a realistic...

    my 70 AAR tribute Cuda

I am pretty sure that the Petty Blue was first offered in 1972. My 72 Cuda is Petty Blue, so any 70/71 would not be Petty Blue (unless it was some sort special order...)

    New ebody project

Welcome!! Like it was mentioned, glad to se another one being saved. I am a fan of the 72-74 Challengers, they are a little overlooked, especially when compared to the 70-71's, but they are a beautiful car!!

    Restoration Withdraws

What do you know about the wire - where was it on the car, trunk, dash, engine compartment? I would expect it to be a power wire with the inline fuse and color, and an accessory since any fused standard component wires would normally go thru the fuses in the fuse block... It looks to be orange...
