What battery tender do you use? I would like to get a decent one not some harbor freight cheapo.
Just to update my situation I do need a new battery. I removed it from my car over the weekend and charged it for a few hours and it is totally dead!
I had my mechanic install a painless wiring harness & he basically butchered it. After I got my car back, I had no 12V power to my gauges, he also completely cut my plug to the dimmer switch. I also had no power to my instrument lights. The seat belt buzzer under the seat he took that wire & ran...
Any opinions on these battery covers? I found this over at Roseville Moparts while searching batteries after my charging mishap. I like the original factory look it’s $75 more or less, so a little on the pricey side to me for a chunk of plastic but obviously way cheaper than a retro style...
Thanks I’ve had this battery for a few years with no issues but I will check for a vent & make sure it isn’t plugged. I’m hoping it’s just an unfortunate coincidence and not related to my recent wiring issues.
Just to recap my recent problems and posts. I’ve had some wiring harness issues. I think I have them fixed to the point where I can drive my car. Once my harness issues were resolved the battery had died so I left it on a trickle charge for a few days my car started right up drove it and had no...
Well new problem now. I just spent the day putting everything back together and of course the car won’t start!
It tries to turn over cranking for a split second then just the clicking sound from the solenoid. Even with a 200/A battery starter on it I can’t get it to turn over.
Just to recap...
Yeah it’s kind of a mess! Thank you everyone for the help! I’d still be 1/2 stuffed under my dash swearing like a madman if it wasn’t for everyone’s help! As of now I have 12v to the gauge cluster (used the large blue Acc wire at the base of the column) and have power to the instrument...
I checked mine its dead. My problem is the guy who put in the painless fuse block butchered my wiring. So that’s why I’m now just trying to find power where I can to get things working again. I have my instrument lights back. It’s not factory correct but they work so I’ll take it! The dimmer I...
Well connecting to the headlight switch was a bad idea the fuel gauge now works when I turn on the headlights 🤣! I’m gettin tired & making poor choices! Lol
Wipers do work but do not park themselves when I shut them off. I gave up on the dimmer for now, I think I’m closer to getting the gauges and instrument lights working so I’m focusing on those first. Quick question. I’m trying to run a new 12V wire to the voltage limiter im just not sure which...
Just checked I have power from the headlight switch into the Dimmer SW. but no power when I check the other two terminals on the dimmer switch connection? I even removed the dimmer & used jumpers to bypass it in case the switch is bad.
On a positive note I did run a 12V jumper to the RTE...
Thank you I think I have the gauge lights figured out. I started to look at my gauge cluster I have power to the Alt gauge (all I have at the moment is a simple test light) the needle on the alt gauge doesn’t move at all. If I turn on the directional shouldn’t the needle twitch a little with a...
