Just read your message and I'm relieved to learn you had a similar issue that is somewhat normal. Thanks! Chryco also suggested an oil cooler. The motor has a stock oil pump. The car does have an oil light that does work but didn't come on. The builder came well recommended and used good...

This is a new 408 stroker motor, (not a rebuilt) with just over 2000 miles. Unfortunately I don't have a hoist readily available at my disposal. Also I'm a novice at best. Is there any methodology to determine the issue without removing the pan? When the engine starts from cold it runs at 55 psi...

I use the Wix 51068 oil filter. Apparently Fram filters are no good these days I've been told.

The oil pump in mine is a stock pump. I'm not as experienced or knowledgeable as most of you folks. Thus probably not going to be doing any surgery anytime soon...

Thanks. It's a new motor with no oil leaks or any other fluid leaks I didn't want to start taking off the pan etc unless I'm certain and it's necessary. I'm not the world's best or luckiest mechanic! Only drive the car 2200 miles a year if that. Just realized I may not even drive another two...

Thanks for the reply. Sounds similar to my situation. There was a large Mopar show a couple of hours from me yesterday but decided not to go as I didn't have confidence in the motor.

Thanks for the reply. Great suggestions. I do have a spacer but not sure if it's Coolcarb brand. Don't have an infrared temp gauge.

Thanks for the reply. This is a virtually new motor. Oil pressure was fine until after driving at least an hour.

Thanks for the reply. Checked it. Oil pump seems fine. Also, at cold start on idle at 1200 RPM it's about 55 psi and driving around town it's well above 30 psi.

Hello, Just throwing it out there in case anybody has experienced a similar issue. The motor is a new 408 stroker, a year old with around 2K miles. The first two hour plus drive we took was a a couple of weeks ago. Sunny day. Outside temperature around 85 - 87 F. After driving an hour and then...

    Seatbelt Starter Interlock

I'm going to replace the engine harness next week. The car was built January 14, 1974 so I ordered the kit from after October 1973. Specifically, the solenoid for the seatbelt interlock is still on the inner fender of the driver's side and is wired up. However for as long as I've owned the car...

And I drove it . . like I stole it lol

As long as you're happy is all that counts. That photo of the car on the driveway with the scenery around it would make an awesome man cave plaque! I love it.

    $46.6K '68 Charger R/T Tariff Bill

You are 100% correct. I'm semi retired now, but most of my working life was in OEM MFG for a global corporation (not automotive) in the Logistics & Supply Chain area. I had to know Canada, U.S. & Mexico Customs laws/regs like clockwork. I have brought vehicles up from U.S. for myself and for...
