My first deep 727 pan came from the Mopar Direct Connection program, so it *was* engineered by those that know. I've put deep pans on all my 727's (lot of cars) since 1978 when I became a Mopar guy. The other thing I added to most of my cars is an external transmission cooler. To me it's cheap...
He's probably talking about the double holes under the tailshaft housing where the vertical bracket bolts on for the console shifter. Trucks did not have that. He can get a different tailshaft housing from another 727 to fix that.
I bought an AGM battery to ensure no leaks onto my painted engine compartment. Ended up moving it to the trunk with 1/0 cable to give more room up front. No regrets. Will go Walmart battery when needed next time.
When they run correctly, it is hard to beat the thermoquad's performance. And the sound when the secondaries open... magical! When you rebuild the carb rebuild the throttle shaft too. The stock shaft setup is a weak point which leaks not only fuel but can leak air too. Fix it with the throttle...
Wow those would be very stiff bars indeed. I installed 1.03 bars and still had to clearance my headers on both sides to clear the larger bars. Cannot imagine having even larger bars! Maybe you are using stock style exhaust which would make all the difference. Ugh.
When I got my 72 Challenger I would drive at night and after about 5 minutes of the headlights being on high beam the lights would go out. Something obviously was getting hot and opening. Low beams never had a problem. I had crackback build me a relay setup that took the load off of the...
Not sure what manufacturer the cam came from, but there have been quite a few problems with some. He will need to pull the intake and look at the lobes. If questionable he will need to pull the rocker shafts & pushrods to have a look at the lifters. That will tell the story.
I installed the CVF serpentine kit onto my 440 (512) engine w/power steering because I am running aftermarket Vintage Auto Air A/C and could not get the V belts to line up properly so it would throw the fan belt. Before I switched to serpentine I was able to put the second belt onto the AC...
I bought my last BPE engine from Summit. Was less expensive than going directly to BPE with free shipping and Summit has the rewards program too. Was a win-win for me. I contacted BPE and they said build lead time was 6 weeks. From my summit order to my truck delivery was 3 weeks. Another win...
