Since you have the switch you have something to work with. Fix it. I would say open the crimped area on the spade terminal and install a spring. Or see if something is broke. Like an insulator. You might be able to make one from a new switch.

Let me guess you headliner is in. If I remember the console wiring come out of the head liner and is clipped to it. Someone might be able to show that.
