Yes, I'm aware of the hole, throwing off the i.d. as 383.
1.5" throat depth, to the underside of the carb hold down. Throat depth is the same as my 71 340 base.
This has the 70 style carb bridge.
So I will leave it to the buyer to determine use.
383 with a high rise? Add feet for 340 supports...
Factory 4bbl base. 340 and 440 are the same height. For 340, you will need to add bracket for base support straps.

I put the 7000 rpm one in mine for my 340.
I could look to see what range my extras are.
Your big motor would probably need something lower.

I happened to look at my shaker grills, and they have the same markings as those $1400 ones on ebay.
No pentastar.
But now I see that I need the trianglar cold air flap.
But I have a spare smaller oval hot air flap that needs just a moment of work.

318 and 340 are the same length. I built a 360 with those rods and some really light pistons. Hasn't blown yet.
But the purists will want 340 rods.

I think I get it now, you need the through bolt for the isolator. The bolt that goes through the K member.
I just wanted to make you aware that the fratzoid has to be removed to apply a new wood grain. I have not done that before, and the pot metal emblem is pressed and peened on the backside.
Careful trimming of the spread metal, but leaving a post to apply some JB weld to the back? IDK?
