20+ years ago I cut mine off with a wheel and put a brass bolt and nut through it to stop the exhaust leak. Worked great, but not correct for an original setup obviously.
Dangitt. I just ordered a distributor, rev limiter, and some small stuff and the code I found excludes the rev limiter so I didn't save a single dollar. :(
I'm taking my MSD distributor out here in a few weeks if you want a deal on a used one. I want to go back to vacuum advance for a street car. It's an early 2000s purchase but only had 30 or 40 hours on it.
Alternatively, I wouldn't be the person I am today if I hadn't drug home some hopeless projects and bled on them in the yard all summer. I support his endeavor!
Wet doesn't bother me. Salted roads and the spray that gets in every nook and cranny does. It's not uncommon to have a foot of snow on the road here either, and the old Bronco is just so much more fun in that. The road in front of my house last year. Not Challenger friendly.😆 Took the plows a...
Went out for one last run around the neighborhood today before putting it up for the winter. I may get some more drives in but it depends on when they salt the roads. Couple big burnouts in front of the house, topped off fuel with stabilizer, disconnected the battery, made a chore list of stuff...
Far N. Ca. Had these on my Challenger with a 440 for many years, upgraded to TTI with the new engine I built. How about a hundred bucks plus shipping? They are dented for clearance, I can show more pictures if you'd like.
In far N. Ca. They'd polish up pretty well but not show quality. Had them on my 440 forever, switched over to a Holley SD for the new engine. Not sure what they go for so lets say 500 for the set plus shipping? I'd do the intake alone but only willing to part with the valve covers if the...
Far N. Ca. Doing a shop cleanout and this is just going to be in the way. I redid mine in leather, this is out of a 72 Challenger, not sure if they're the same for all four years. Definitely not in perfect shape but would be fine for a driver, or for someone to refinish? Repops at Classic are...
Came with my 440 Source stroker kit, machinist didn't like the sizing so he recommended a different set. I'm no expert and just went with his recommendation. No need for these so if anyone needs them how's 50 bucks plus shipping?
Page 9 of the linked instructions below, line 36, says "To set rev limiter, insert the jumper with desired RPM number into the side of box. Included jumpers were 3000, 6000, 7000, and 8000." I think that's what I have. I'll have to go look at it tomorrow and see if the "jumper" on mine has any...
Nope, that's what I thought too. Went out and pulled it off the fender and looked around it today, that's why it's crooked in the photo. There's a black plug that goes into the side of it towards the bottom of that photo that I think is probably the "button" mentioned in old literature. Some...
