I have done it on a couple of my cars over the years. It was all custom made by me. Nothing of a kit except a factory 440 sixpack base from an A12 Bee or Bird.
Are you sure it is lifters and not the rockers clattering? Did you re-install the rocker shafts correctly on correct side from front to back with the oiling holes facing downward towards the #4 cam journal.
I have an am/fm in the car already. I also have the 8 track bezel pieces and 3 speaker dash speakers and grilles already also. Just need to find the radio.
It is insane what people are asking for these factory radios these days. I have been looking for an 70 AM/FM 8 track radio for a while myself. Even if I can find a core to update with newer and updated internals is even difficult to find.
Welcome. Nice car. It looks like it was expensive. Good luck with your Son on the new project. Being the Father and Son project aspect of it is more important than the style or type of car itself.
Looking good. I owned a lime green 71 Challenger at one time also. Actually, I owned the same car twice and regretted selling it the second time as well.
Yes, they make them slightly long to begin with to trim to fit and being that you have a Cuda you will have to cut more off than Challenger owners due to the 2" shorter wheel base.
My buddy has a beautiful black with white nose stripe 68 Camaro SS RS 396 4 speed car that is buried in a pole barn just like that. One can not even tell there would be a car parked underneath everything. It hasn't been out in over 25+ years.
Very cool old truck. I love those old trucks. I would not mind restoring one someday. What year is your Back Burner Barracuda? Now there is a good name for it....
