    Shock Recommendations - Stock

How did you get the rear Koni shocks to fit the stud on the rear shock plates? The stock stud is too big to fit the rear Koni shocks.

    What Upper & Lower Hoses?

On the lower hose, I am still thinking this one through... The lower hoses all have a 1-3/4" end to them. The engine and my Auto City Classic radiator use the 1-3/4" size, with everything on the passenger side. The general issue here is that the lower hose, the lower hose connection on the...

    What Upper & Lower Hoses?

After looking through the Gates hose catalog and using the Rockauto 360 view of the hoses, I ordered three different upper hoses. Gates 22039, 22900 and 20559. All of these hoses have an 1-3/4" end at the thermostat housing and 1-1/2" end at the radiator. The photos below are the hoses as...

    What Upper & Lower Hoses?

Well...not much response here. So in looking further I found that Gates has a molded hose catalog with some dimensions and a photo of the actual hoses. About page 110 is the hose pictures. The catalog is linked below. I looked through the catalog, found some that might work. I plugged those...

    What Upper & Lower Hoses?

On your 5.7/6.4 Hemi Swap what upper and lower radiator hoses did you use? I have a Auto City Classic Radiator where both inlet and outlet is on the passenger side. If you used a Champion Rad or similar where the inlet and outlet are on the passenger side, it would be similar.

    2006 5.7Hemi and 2013 8HP70 Install challenges and solutions

Interesting findings. On my 392/8HP70 swap in a Challenger, I have about 5-1/2" of clearance from the bottom of the trans pan to the ground. This is probably in the realm of where these cars were initially. There is probably more clearance here than with my old Blackjack headers from the old...

    American Autowire Install tips/questions

The more I see about these general American Autowire kits and the Painless wiring kits, the more I think, it might be easier to start with fresh factory repro wiring harnesses from M&H (Year One) and then add/subtract wiring from that for any custom applications.

    Radiator hoses?

If you're using an aftermarket radiator with passenger side inlet/outlet, I have the hoses below in my swap notes. Im not there yet to know if these work, so buyer beware. Upper: Napa 9535, Gates 22940, Gates 20923 (each should have one end 1-1/2 and the other 1-3/4) Lower: Napa 8920, Dayco...

    2006 5.7Hemi and 2013 8HP70 Install challenges and solutions

Nice solution for the vent. Call it an inspection hole. LOL! For a steering box, I am using the Borgeson. For the exhaust, I found the Holley/Blackheart headers (I began buying stuff several years back and was able to get a set). I did have to slightly dent the Blackheart headers to fit the...

    2006 5.7Hemi and 2013 8HP70 Install challenges and solutions

Nice start. I am doing a similar project. With the 8HP70 I had to remove/grind down about 7 tabs on the trans case for clearance in the tunnel. The trans vent with the Holley mounts is right behind the pinch weld in the tunnel. I cut away a couple inches of the pinch weld to run the vent...

Hellcat or a 6.4 hemi engine swap.

Something else to consider here. Those that opt for the Hellcat engine or better, you might want to read your insurance policy. Haggerty has some limitations on horsepower up to 650hp. Not sure what haapens if you have more than that. Likely higher rates or something else. Perhaps other...

    Best sound deadner, and carpet.

Whatever product you decide, insulate the partition between the rear seat and the trunk. This will reduce sound. Then i add some additional carpet pad under the rear seat. The mufflers are right below that so the pad helps with sound there.

    Epoxy and rust converters

Sandblast then epoxy is best. If you're not sandblasting, go over the area with cup brush on a grinder, then I like to apply Rust Bullet. This stuff IMO is better than POR15. It is silver in color, can go over rust, baremetal and painted surfaces and bonds very well. It can be sprayed or...

    DIY Home Alignment?

I am having a hard time picturing this. Is it the nut/bolt part or the egg of the cam? Meaning on the front for max caster the nut/bolt should be closest to the inner fender and the rear adjuster the nut/bolt part closest to the engine? Or do I have this backwards?

    Harness Wrapping

Later model OEM wire harnesses use Tesa tape. It has that fabric like tape consistency. Probably not OE correct for the early cars. But its easily found on Amazon.

QA1 subframe and control arms worth the effort?

Look at the old Hotchkis E-Max Challenger and the Chenoweth Challenger. Both of these ride on a relatively stock K-Member and do VERY well at autocross events. Sadly the E-Max is MIA (I think). The aftermarket K members, and those with coil overs, seem to be just another way for you to part...

    392 Restomod

A 392 with an 8HP70 auto trans (basically out of a 2020 Challenger) will slide into an ebody without modifications done to the tunnel and using the stock K-member. You will need to use the Holley engine/trans mounts which move the engine forward 1-inch. This gives the transmission some room...

    Minimum Vacuum for Power Brakes

I have the Bendix 10" booster and it works fine with 14" vacuum from my mild small block. My car is a weekend cruiser and Ive never had an issue.
