I spoke with a big car guy up here and if you want to be a super legal Eagle about it it's an accounting nightmare. Unless you're going to make ridiculous money you're better off breaking even or loosing a couple bucks. At least in my application, other people in different states may see...
Considering what I paid for the car and what was put into it there's no way I'm going to make money. Which is fine with me because it's been an absolute blast. I am going to make a copy of all the receipts though before I pass them on to the new owner.
I live in Minnesota and am considering selling my "cuda, if I sell it, do I have to show that money on my 2026 income taxes? Not much for helpful info out there. Your thoughts????? Thanks.............
UPDATE.... Problem solved.....Did a fluid change and the problem went away immediately.
Don't know if I can say what I used on the open forum, but it worked. "BOOM"
Thanks everyone..................................................................................................
Update, Got a helper to depress the clutch pedal while I looked at the flywheel-preasure plate-disk.
There's plenty of air gap on both sides of the disk, it also slides forward and backwards with ease.
And you can turn the disk/pilot shaft with no effort. I'm gonna try a fluid change next...
From a dead stop with the engine running it's a bear to get in any gear. With the engine off and stopped it shifts just fine. Once moving it goes through the gears just fine. it was rebuilt late last summer and I only drove it a couple times and don't remember it doing this. It has the same...
What speed detailer are you using? And why do you like it? Been using Lucas Slick Mist for some time and like it but am curious about the ceramic products that seem to be all the rage now a days. Love to hear your thoughts and experiences.
Thanks..................
I'm looking to have a pro built engine for my 'cuda and was wondering if any of you have heard of or had dealings with Performance Injection Equipment out of Delaware? Thanks......
Anybody know where an AIRTEMP decal would go on a 1970 PLYMOUTH BARRACUDA [BP23] car with a 440 and air conditioning?
Thanks all.......................
What CFM carb would have came on a 1970 440 HP engine? And what CFM carb would have came on a 1973 440 truck engine ?
Thanks all ..............................
I am using a non synthetic 80/90 and i've tried adjusting the first/second shift rod. Looks like it's gonna have to come out.
Too bad, otherwise it runs smooth and quiet. Thanks guys.....
If I'm in second gear and I let off the throttle and an not holding the shifter back the trans will pop into neutral.
This is the only gear that does this. The shift from first to second has a different feel to it compared to the shifting of all the other gears. Kind of hard to put language to...
Interesting measurement, the gear on the distributor is pretty coarse, if that's what you meant, and there's a cylinder firing every 45 degrees. My head is starting to hurt. I think it's going to be a winter project/experiment.
Gotcha, for now I'm just happy it's running great. I understand that there's a relationship between the keyway and the timing mark on the balancer, you wouldn't happen to know how many degrees that should be? Thanks again.........
UPDATE....I through the spec book out the window and moved the timing to where the motor was happy. BOOM, no more run-on, starts great, no pops, knocks or back fires. And the car runs great. Just a little fine tuning with the vacuum advance and I'm done. I put a timing light on it and it's at...
I think some more carb tuning is in order and if that doesn't yield the desired results the timing cover is coming off to check for a skip or what I suspect is an assembly error.
