    1973 Mecum Creamsicle Challenger

    With a gasket scraper and a hammer... I'm cutting those pans out anyway so probably didn't even need to remove the fiberglass but don't really want it catching on fire when I get in there. I had the car up on the highest level of the quick jack and the transmission wasn't clearing the rear...

    1973 Mecum Creamsicle Challenger

    Today I bought a Hobart welder from Tractor Supply, some welding gloves and jacket, some 0.03 gauge mig welding wire and some 22 gauge panels to "learn on". Need to find some weld gas and then go get a lesson from some guys in the car club. I had previously purchased a Eastwood surface...

    1973 Mecum Creamsicle Challenger

    This week I've removed the 727 Transmission, drive shaft, and exhaust. I removed the fiberglass patches that were previously used to fix the rust holes in the driver's and passenger's floor pans. Next, I'll remove fuel lines and should be ready to weld in new floor patch panels

    1973 Mecum Creamsicle Challenger

    My goal for the RestoMod (and I'd like some advice here) is to create a vintage looking Challenger that will compete with the modern Scat Pack Challengers in power and handling. I've already commissioned the 440 stroker and the target for it is 600hp. The car was originally a Torqueflite...

    1973 Mecum Creamsicle Challenger

    I suppose it's time to start my restoration thread. I bought this Challenger at a Mecum auction back in April and found it to be a little rougher than I'd hoped. The car was running and I attempted to drive it home but didn't make it far. Among the issues, it had holes in the gas tank. I...

    Well... Car's still under repair. I'll shift this discussion over to "Member Restorations" even though it's a resto mod at this point. As noted, I added MSD, bigger intake manifold, bigger carb to the 318. The engine is still missing on a few cylinders but compression test checks out ok and...

    318 -> 390 Stroker Advice

    Hey Guys, So I got a '73 Challenger (Base model) at Mecum recently and I've been going through what I want to do with it. My goal is to create a very fun street car that will perform well in town and on the freeway but still be a bit of an aggressive muscle car. I won't be taking it to a...

    Of course you can walk the floor at Mecum and "inspect" the cars... You can open hoods and doors but I see very few people getting into the cars or crawling under them. Having said that, yeah, it's quite a show and everything is SO SHINEY! I have to say that for this car, someone did a really...

    I want an E Body for sure…. I guess I’m still struggling. I guess I think for $100k+ I could get a higher end ‘70 or ‘Cuda. But I can see feeling freer to make this what I want as its not super high value “numbers matching” I suppose. Meanwhile, I’m fixing the fuel system, upgrading to MSD, put...

    Yeah, I paid won the bid for $34k plus fees... Spoke to some restoration folks here and gotten some quotes. The question is do I want a '73 318 base model numbers matching? Do I want a '73 Restomod Hellcat for $100k plus? Still debating what to do but I have noticed they aren't making more...

    So, other than not bid on it... in my shoes, what would you do? I accept I'm going to have to pay for my mistake to some extent.

    Hi all, So, I went to Mecum down here in Houston and... I won my bid on a '73 Challenger. I could use some advice... Now yes, I really should have looked the car over more carefully before bidding on it and there were plenty of other very nice Challengers there that would have better...
