See, parts you need are being listed by the owners on here. Just let them know whether you need a 2 speed or a variable speed wiper motor now and they can set you up.

New ones for console are available. Used ones are cheaper but usually not as nice.
If you have the door panel inserts and just need the woodgrain see this:

Be aware the 73 Challenger had a 2 speed wiper motor as well as a variable speed wiper motor available. You probably want to go with what you have for linkage. The insets and console plate are available as reproductions as far as I know.

And yes, my floorboards have a lot of black paint from the factory down the sides and under the rear seat back and sides to hide gaps in seats, etc. I'll share a couple of photos if I can find them. BTW. The old carpet I removed is still in very good shape. I think I'm going to use it in the 72...
I agree wholeheartedly with your idea to lay the carpet out a long time in advance of the installation. On my mass-backed carpet in the Charger, I laid it on the floorboard of the car for at least 6 months before installing any of the interior. It made a world of difference compared to the one...
I think I bought those goofy star mats in the early 70s to keep the rain/snow moisture from getting to the floor pans. It worked. I probably bought them at Sears or KMart for $5 for the set. I was a poor E-5 in the military then with a car payment of $95/month on the car. Besides, we didn't have...
I finished the carpet install today. I have to share a photo. The only pieces I haven't changed out were the old sill plates I used for fitting. I'm trying to let the carpet settle a little more and then I'll install the excellent sill plates. If I were to rate this OER carpet, I would say it...
My car when I bought it in 1972 did not have a grommet. I hope this helps others with doing their own carpet. I'm slower now and work it in increments in between rest times.

You ask for the dimmer switch shot. I just finished working it and kick panel. Because the dimmer switch is surface mount and has the electrical connection on the side, it can hold up the carpet if you decide to not use a grommet. I cut a big doughnut shape piece of carpet that is tight to the...
OER gave me so much material on the rockers that the sill plates couldn't cover it. It would actually be seen from the door opening sticking out from sill plates. To get the preformed 4 speed hump carpet to fit properly required me to remove a couple of inches up under the dash to prevent it...
Another item I learned the hard way is to leave the material behind the rear seat bottom hooks. Previously, I would cut that extra material out and it seemed to allow the carpet to slide forward slightly into the foot well. The OER carpet has plenty of extra material to allow this.

I got a photo of where I'm at so far on the OER carpet install. It's actually forming to the floor really well. As you can see, I've bolted the carpet to the floor using the seat belt and seat tracks holes to keep the carpet from moving while I trim it. I'm going through alot of utility knife...
I'm doing the final fitting of my OER carpet. So far, I've been able to trim off about 3 inches all the way around. It looks like I may need to trim some more off under the door sill plates. I'll try to get a couple of photos. It's conforming to the floor great so far.

The repro box I show in my post is also screw together halves. I just hadn't put it together. I'm not ready to install it in the 72 Challenger.

As long as I had my glovebox out on my 71 Challenger to replace the heater core and perform a heater box rebuild, I thought I'd document the parts. I bought a reproduction glovebox for my 72 Challenger that I'm putting together. I decided to compare the original in my 71 on left in photo to the...
As I'm redoing the carpet on my 71 Challenger, so I removed the rear seat of course. I still have my original top boot cover with the metal spring plastic clips. It's tired and I don't want to take a chance on destroying it by continuing to use it. About 10 years ago, I ordered a reproduction...
