I asked around about the rocker shaft orientation and was told the oiling holes go "down and out".
Is that consistent with your info?
I any case, mine are installed that way and no problemo so far.
Here is a place to start. If you can't find your original, you might find a period correct engine.

Hey all
I recently took the carb (Holley 4150 750 CFM) off my 440 Cuda because it needs to be rebuilt. I bought the carburetor probably 35 years ago and it sat new in box all that time. Lately, it sat with ethanol gas in it and being used from time to time and now the float valves won't seal.
I...
Again. They ARE doing something with them. The guy in the video said there is or would be another video showing a third barn where they are restoring the cars.
You characterize this collection as just scrap unless they do something with it.
You are making a comparison of two unlike things.
I...
I reread what you said about the video after not having watched it and you said that "its not worth nothing unless something is done with them."
If you ever come across a collection like that, please let me know. I'd like to offer you nothing for it.
No problem, right?
Made me drool. I wonder even just ballpark what this is worth.

Thanks for your reply.
It's a new sender so I don't think it's a hole in the float.
We put the stock ground strap gizmo on the tank suction and we tried using other grounds with another wire and zippo.
We checked to see if the steel gas line was a good ground and it was. We tried other grounds...
Hello all
I've been having trouble with my gas gauge in a '74 Cuda (Rallye dash) and have tried a couple different things to troubleshoot and I'm starting to think it's the gauge.
I didn't have a ground strap on the new sender so I tried a few good known grounds on the sender suction tube and...
Thanks muchly.
I was going to have to get under the car and stick a skinny screwdriver up through the weld nuts. The holes are covered in Dynamat.
Maybe I won't have to now.
Thank you 1000 times. I was beginning to think nobody knew the answer to that question and then someone on Ebodies only even sends me a picture.
Awesome and thanks again.
Hey all
Does anyone here happen to know if the seat belt mounting holes in an E body floor pan have 7/16-20 weld nuts in he holes?
Or are they threaded in another manner? Or just through holes?
THX for any info.
I've got a '74 Cuda 440 clone with a lumpy cam and I had to put a vacuum accumulator tank kit on it because of low manifold vacuum.
Summit sells their tank, a check valve, mounting bracket, hardware, plenty of hose and a vacuum gauge for about $135.00 I think.
Worked really well.
Hello and welcome.
I've got a '70 Challenger and a '74 Cuda 440/Tremec 5 spd. clone also.
Great minds.
I have twin boys and we like to take both units on cruises and shows.
Nice cars you have.
Hey Pschlosser
This is off the subject of engine bay paint but I noticed your location is shown as Santa Rosa CA.
I am in the Grass Valley CA area.
I wondered if you have been to the Capitol City Mopars show in Sacramento or the yearly car show in Maxwell CA? If you haven't been there it's on...
I have two Battery Minders and three or four Battery Tenders and I don't use the Battery Tenders much.
I usually rotate the two Battery Minders through all the equipment that have batteries.
After I get this new Optima, the next time I need a new deep cell, I'll probably find another brand with...
