    Parking Brake-handle

All, when I got my 70 challenger, the parking brake handle was bent as pictured. I've checked the service manual but can't seem to find my answer. Can anyone tell me if I can simply replace the handle/rod portion of the brake mechanism? if so, where might I find one? Thanks.

    Electrical Tools

got the butter knives 🔪🔪 ready though I am not sure what a DMM is. I was assuming I would need tools like a power circuit probe and such but I guess I was over thinking it. Thanks for the tips!!

    Electrical Tools

All, At some point I will replace the wiring and install an American Autowire harness on my 70 Challenger. I am an absolute novice and the only thing I know is to not put a butter knife in an outlet. Nonetheless, I will take on the challenge. To that end, I am looking for a list of tools...

    Temp gauge

I'm learning as I go. Probably slower than most. I had no idea so much is a factor affecting the temp. Most of all right now, I'm just trying to make sure I don't blow it up as I learn/work through all the issues my car has. I know little about the engine other than according to the engine...

    Temp gauge

My 70 challenger has a 360 engine. My temp gauge seems to be toward the high end. I would expect it should be around halfway. Does anyone roughly know what the temp would be at the midpoint and high point? i used a laser temp reader and it says 180-190. average.

    valve covers

The only reason i'm looking at the AMD ones is because in their picture, the openings are in the same location. everything i've seen on summit racing for example, the holes are in different locations compared to mine.

    valve covers

I want to replace the valve covers on my 70 challenger which has a 360 crate engine. I've looked online and only AMD seems to have a set that have the breather holes in the center. does anyone know of any others with the same holes but cheaper? Thanks...

    headers again

I received my new TTI headers and i'm getting ready to install them. Just had a couple questions for the brain trust before I get going. I previously learned the hard way that coolant comes out the header bolts. Do all the header bolts need sealant or just the ones closest to firewall? Other...

    Battery cables

I see it now. indeed it is a brown wire 12 gauge. it looked black from all the electrical tape gunk it had on it since it was wrapped up with the red cable. is there a better option other than electrical tape for engine compartment wiring? the diagrams show the color codes but is there a...

    Battery cables

I'm replacing the battery cables on my 70 Dodge Challenger (360 crate engine). the current red wire to the starter is about 43" long but only says 100% copper on it. it also has an accessory lead wire (12") that goes to the solenoid. and the ground from starter to solenoid (34"). I'm not...

    coil

Are the coils more or less universal? in looking at pertronix/MSD/Accel, there are different ohms and volts listed. I've looked at MSD instructions and the elec distributor instructions that I have and nothing specifies the coil type. The more I look into my car the more I find things that i'm...

    coil

All, in the process of organizing my engine compartment's wiring, i found that my Accel 140001 coil (which is ginormous) has a chip in it. not sure if this occurred due to ignition or dropped somewhere along the way. Either way, i figure I should replace it. Since I have an MSD 6A box w/ tach...

    harness mixing

I plan to redo the wiring on my 70 challenger. I'm going with American Autowire. I know behind the dash will be the most labor intensive and likely the most painstakingly part. I'm considering starting with the rear and front harnesses to chip away at the project. Any idea if the original...

    Spark plug wires

My 70 Challenger has a 1993 crate engine - 360 w/ six pack. not sure if it makes a difference but it has MSD ignition. I broke a spark plug cable today and I have no idea how old the cables are so i'm going to replace all of them. I'm not really concerned about period correct just that...
