...how hot can a 440 big block get? (Before you cook it!) I have a 1974 Dodge Challenger that sits beautifully (in heavy traffic) at 180, it stays there for about 5 or 10 mins, then goes up to about 205 quite quickly . Cheers!
..I've got a 1974 Challenger, 440 big block - how hot can it get before causing damage? In traffic it sits at 180 spot on for about 10 mins, then it will climb from 180 to 205/210 fairly quickly
..so I have a few electrical issues on my '74 Challenger - before I chase around to much I just wanted to check if my alternator is a big enough capacity. (I posted this on another forum and one of the suggestions was that the alternator may have been to small)

-I have a 74 challenger (recently purchased) that doesn't have front or back seatbelts - the interior has been re-done by previous owner and I'm guessing the seatbelts have been lost along the way - can someone provide a link to where I can buy them from please??
