Thanks... I was able to get the Harwood springs to work by trimming just a bit off the tip of the hook in the lower side so they could rotate as the hood was opened and closed.
They will not go any further in due to that lack of the 90 degree twist. I can push it in further but it just resets to that same position. I don't want these binding or coming off when I try to close the hood. I might need to grab a set of 215's. The TA hood is a bit heavier than the AAR from...
I bought a set of Harwood 210's for the TA hood I'm getting ready to put on my Challenger.. do your springs have this wonky angle at the bottom as well?
Would be interested to see the light pattern and how they compare with the incandescent. With many of these LED's.. the light pattern is all over the place. They look cool tho.. good vid!
^^ Might want to consider this:
Holley 12-318 Holley 255 LPH OE Style EFI Fuel Tank Modules
Looking at this setup for if I go EFI in the future. In tank and does not require an additional return line to be installed... the pump self regulates in the tank. Pretty clean setup for an in tank...
Might not be your buddy's fault. I have to remind myself these cars are 50+ years old and have changed hands many times in most cases. That tranny might have come out of a 70... that someone put a 72 tranny in years ago. LOL.
^^ This.. sounds like the car is on jackstands, maybe at the frame rails? If you have another hack, slowly lift from the center of the rear axle until you can engage the threads on both sides. You should not have to lift so far the car comes off the jackstands.
For a decent built v8 you will likely need to be pulling 3000 cfm or better. The good fans that can accomplish this kind of flow do it with quite a bit of noise and draw quite a few amps which will put a strain on your charging system if not up to the task.
I'd look into the radiator first and...

Good info.. thanks! I've an equal number of folks who say regular 10w-30/40 was good nuff for the manufacturer to put it in every car came off the assembly line. Try not to start that debate.. "Tastes great... less filling" comes to mind. :)
Had oil on my mind yesterday sitting in 100...
I really liked the 625 Carter AFB back in the day, could put it on nearly anything and easily get it to run right.
I put a 625 Holley Demon on my 360 Challenger and I must say I really like it. Slight adjustment to the idle mixture using a vacuum gauge and a few turns on the butterfly...
True dat. One of the hardest hurdles I've seen people struggle to overcome is resist the temptation to over carb a mild street engine. I've done it myself. Double pumpers are great carbs for the right application but are a whole different breed to tune. I have a 750 ultra and 600 collecting dust...
Good discussion. I just installed new TTI shorty headers and exhaust. Slipped the tips on just last weekend because it's better than looking at the bare exhaust through the cutouts. The tips are wayyyy.. out there. Waiting to see if I want to stay with the Pypes tips before I cut the pipe to...
Long overdue update....
Alrighty... so I installed the Hotchicks leafs last night. Total install probably 4.5 hours... not too bad working alone. Earned a black thumb for my efforts.
End result is the rear is lower about 1 inch, was 24 inches from ground to fender lip... now it's 23 inches...
Nice ride! Nearly exact same ride height and tire size as mine. How did you get front down? Prior owner of mine dropped by loosening the torsion bars... LCA is only about an inch off the rubber stop. I had to install SPC uppers to get the camber adjusted properly.
